Monthly Adaptive Chair Yoga with Jacquie Brown: Movement, Breath, & Stillness

This class is built around a simple truth: If you can breathe, you can practice yoga. Designed specifically for anyone navigating limited mobility, chronic pain, or recovering from an injury, this chair-based practice offers all the benefits of traditional yoga without ever needing to get down on the floor. It is also an excellent option for anyone who spends long hours sitting and needs a practice they can do at their desk.

This monthly offering will be on Mondays at 7pm 9/21, 10/19 & 11/16.

Want to see more of this in our community? Attend, bring a friend, and help us share the message that YOGA IS FOR EVERY BODY!
Whether you use a wheelchair, rely on an assistive device, spend your workday at a desk, or simply prefer the stable support of a chair, you are welcome here. No prior yoga experience is ever needed. Just bring yourself.

Our emphasis is on meeting your body exactly where it is today without expectation or judgement. We don't just focus on the physical aspects in this class. We treat the breathwork and meditation as just as important as the movement, moving far beyond just physical stretching to integrate the more subtle layers of yoga.

Every single movement and practice is choice-based. You are always in total control of your own experience, and variations will be offered throughout to ensure you feel supported and empowered.

Here is what we will explore together:

  • Accessible Movement: Gentle, intentional seated postures designed to support joint health, build functional strength, and improve your daily mobility.

  • Breath Support: Mindful breathing techniques to help soothe the nervous system, reduce stress, and shift the body into a state of ease.

  • Mindfulness & Meditation: Guided quiet time to ground the mind, build mental resilience, and cultivate a closer, kinder relationship with your body.

  • Bring a Friend or Family Member: Yoga is better in community. If you have a parent, neighbor, or loved one who might not feel welcome or comfortable in a traditional, fast-paced yoga studio, please bring them along. To make it easier to practice together, we offer a special "bring-a-loved-one" discount. Purchase a friend/family class pack here.

  • Time to Connect: The yoga practice itself is one hour, but we invite you to stick around for an extra 15 minutes afterward. We'll have some tea, unwind, and use the time to just connect, chat, or talk through any questions you might have (super informal, just a time to connect).

  • Financial accessibility - if attending yoga is cost prohibitive for you simply email us for a scholarship.
