Rejuvenating Sound with Samer Ghadry

A 60-minute sound meditation with multiple instruments with a focus on sound journeying with gongs, facilitated by practitioner and musician Samer Ghadry. Sound healing journeys are designed as open spaces that provide acoustic guidance from which participants are free to go on their own unique path of self discovery. Benefits are wide-ranging and often go into stress reduction, nervous system regulation, creative processes, mental clarity, emotional processing, and much more.

Classes begin with brief orientation and deep breathing. During the sound journey participants are encouraged to refrain from sleeping / snoring, while deep listening, meditation, and mindfulness are greatly encouraged.

We will be resting on blankets on the floor for optimal sound vibration, but you would prefer a zero gravity chair or massage table we are able to provide those for your comfort.

A 90-minute lesson in gong playing and attunement for newcomers and practitioners. Gong is one of -if not the- most complex instruments in the modern sound healing tool kit. At once and cymbal and a drum, it requires both physical skill and meticulous mentality. In this brief overview, Samer will guide players into the basics in developing a good relationship with gong, going over elements such as stroke types, mallets, tempo, rhythm, and perhaps most importantly, underlying philosophy and attitude around gong playing for sound healing.
