NEW CLASS with Sarah starts next Thursday 9/18 🍂
@sarah.capua has been part of our team from the beginning - but it has taken over 3 years to have a regular class with her on our calendar! Definitely worth the wait - join us every Thursday from 12-1 for gentle yoga and meditation.
This offering is for practitioners who are seeking a mindful approach to yoga, and are interested in how its practices can support body and mind. Each class will lead from movement to seated meditation, as well as time for reflection and connection with the community. Our physical practice will be focused on the function of the asanas, making the form of the postures easily adaptable to each student. Students will develop a deep relationship with the breath, which serves as the anchor for our movement and creates a gateway to the deeper contemplative benefits of our practice.
This class is for all bodies and levels of movement practice. The beauty of small group class formats is that you are able to receive individual attention to find any modifications that you need. Pre-registration is recommended to reserve your spot.

Metal Element // Autumn Season 🍁 is associated with the the Lung and Large Intestine. The climatic condition is dryness, just like crisp Autumn leaves as they are released back to the soil.
Our skin is part of the Lung energetic and represents our external boundary and protective layer. In the Autumn our skin can become dry, irritated, and otherwise out of balance.
Dry brushing is an exfoliating technique that we love for Metal season self care! Use a dry bristle brush to removes dry skin, stimulate collagen growth, and improve blood flow.
Dry brushing encourages lymphatic drainage, promotes the immune response, and minimizes inflammation.
Always brush towards your heart, applying light pressure and using long strokes. Dry brush before showering and make sure to moisturize afterwards ❤️
We carry these beautiful @bodyunburdened brushes in our apothecary - made of wood and agave bristles.

As late summer // Earth element slips into Fall, we are reminded again and again to nourish ourselves. This is truly a glorious time of year to be alive and eating food in the Hudson Valley.
As life gets stressful, chaotic, and tender - return again and again. Fill up your plate, bowl, mug with what is nourishing and delicious. Do it often. With joy. With gratitude. 🌽🍏🫖

Late summer inspiration and flower essence….
The essence of sunflowers reminds us to stand tall and face the world. It reminds us that we are strong, capable, and to turn toward the sun. Sunflowers remind us of our own inherent value and that our embodied existence is powerful medicine.
🌻

We are so excited to welcome @slowflowsomatics to our team! Meagan (she/her) will join us twice a month on Monday evenings to offer somatic myofascial release small group classes.
Meagan is a NY licensed occupational therapist who’s been supporting children with special needs since 2013. She works in homes, clinics, and schools, helping children with ADHD, autism, chromosomal differences, and developmental delays to build skills and participate fully in everyday life.
She earned her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from Utica College and is also a certified Nervous System Regulation Practitioner through the Institute of Applied Somatics. Currently, she is expanding her knowledge through studies in conscious breathwork and yoga.
As a neurodivergent therapist herself, Meagan has a special interest in body-based regulation. She approaches her work with curiosity, with the goal of helping others learn practical tools to incorporate into their self-care routines.
When she’s not working with children and families, Meagan runs Strong Paws Rescue, a nonprofit dog rescue. She loves giving back to her community, exploring new towns and cities (*with a cup of iced coffee in hand) and spending time in nature with her two dogs, Mia and Bucky. Sadly her pups will not be joining our group classes but they always serve as inspiration!

Back to school and shifting schedules call for slowing down and taking good care 🌻
