The more that meditation is studied and mapped, the more we learn how incredible it can be for our health! Neuroscience is great, but have you read the yoga sutras? These effects have been known for a long time, and the science is finally catching up.
At DayDream we keep telling all of our acupuncture clients - 'this condition could benefit from meditation or yoga nidra'. The 'condition' is called being human in a society that is unsustainable.
This is why on Thursdays we have 2 options for your practice - morning session with @sarah.capua & evening session with @masha_schmidt (subbing for @lynzerz_vibe ). Join us!

Join Masha for these 90 minute workshops focusing on the Yoga Nidra Practice as a tool for self regulation. This workshop is being offered as both an in person and a virtual Zoom option. (The in person workshop at our clinic is limited to 6 people.)
Thursdays 6:30-8pm January 8, 15, 22, & 29th: Plan on attending all 4 classes - each week builds on the previous session.

🔥 Week 4: Science of Nidra & designing your personal practice
Each weeks recording will be shared and all recordings will be available for two weeks after the last session. You will also receive supplementary recorded practices.
No yoga experience necessary, come as you are and expand your capacity to relax on purpose.
In person: Class is limited to 6. Masks optional. We will work on the floor but if you do not enjoy being on the floor, we also have massage tables and zero gravity chairs available. We have props but feel free to bring your own for maximum comfort!
Virtual: Join us from home for maximum comfort and coziness. We will email you a list of suggested props to have on hand during the sessions - but no special equipment will be necessary. You will need a cozy space with pillows and blankets to listen in. Feel free to keep your camera off! The more the merrier - invite your friends and family to join in.

Our next two Yoga NIdra classes will focus on balance of the Ida & Pingala - two energy channels that travel up the spine.
In nature, Ida and Pingala represent dualities in a similar way to the concepts of Yang/Yin, Solar/Lunar, Right/Left. When applied to our emotional states, these can also resonate with feelings of anxiety/depression.

At a time when we are inundated with noise (yes, including this app) - what does it look like to 'tune in' to ourselves?
Part of the work we do at DayDream is to introduce and implement the idea of 'non hierarchical healing'; meaning that there is no expert, test, or machine that has more accurate information than we can gather from our own internal landscape. Not to say those measures are not valid - but that they are not 'more' valid than our own lived experience. The trouble is that listening is a skill that takes practice and patience.
This is why we hold space for your experience of listening in. Whether through tuning forks, meditative movement, breath, Nidra, or just an hour on the massage table...we nurture your capacity for tuning out the noise of the world.
